What this work involves
Interlocking stone in Brantford fails for one reason far more often than any other: the base. Not enough excavation, the wrong material, or gravel dumped in one deep lift and compacted only at the top. The stone gets blamed; the base was the problem.
We excavate to depth, remove soft organic material, install granular base in lifts and compact each lift, set slope for drainage, then screed a consistent bedding layer before any stone is laid. Edge restraint holds the perimeter so the field does not creep.
Retaining wall work follows the same logic. Drainage stone, a pipe with an outlet, geotextile against native soil and backfill compacted as the wall rises. That is what keeps a retaining wall standing straight instead of leaning after a few winters.
